The dog is trouble...?

She is a beagle ausi mix.� She digs holes in the yard like some of your guys' dogs.� No matter how much we punish her, try to deter her from it, and fill them back in... she continues to do it.� Is she that dumb, or is there something we can do that will work to make her stop.� I've looked up some ideas such as burying chicken fence an inch or so under the ground, putting her poop in the hole covering it with an inch of dirt, or filling the hole with water and dunking her head.� Okay... she is my dads dog.� My family lives with my parents.� My mom is mad about the holes, everyone else is highly annoyed.� They will not let us dunk her head.� So no go on that idea.� The poop... eww.� Chicken fence... that's a lot of yard to do that to.� Anyone have an idea? No she has had no obedience training outside of my dad (which is very little).� He is stubborn and wants to do it himself, rather then spend money to hire a professional.� So that answers that question for you.
