Perfume and fire?

Perfume is usually diluted with ethanol (or ethanol and water) as a solvent to carry the scent oils, so yes, perfumes can be flammable. However, the ethanol evaporates quickly after application (aided by body heat), leaving only the scent components behind. You are not at greater risk of catching fire if you're wearing perfume near an open flame.
