How can I learn to decorate my home?

Id recommend getting a few books and magazines and studying them. When I see something i love i mark it or clip it out so i can use it as a refrence and fuse it with a few other ideas i love. as far as utilization of space it has to be what feels right and im not sure how one learns that...
