What can I / should I line a plastic box with? Velvet, Flocking?

I have a Pelican case, it's plastic and I got it without foam. I want to line the inside with velvet, suede or flock. I don't know which one would adhere to the plastic best. Also, if something else would work better I am open to all suggestions. I want to make sure it lasts forever, relatively speaking. If you have any crafting experience that you could contribute that would be great. Thanks.
