Why is the AFL trying to expand in Sydney?

The AFL is trying to make the game more inclusive for other states, as there is somewhat of a monopoly of the game in Victoria. If enough teams are created elsewhere eventually the Grand Final could be held somewhere other than the MCG. There isn't a Tasmanian team because there doesn't seem to be enough Tie support for AFL - though Hawthorn is their team in some way as they hold a couple of games there a year.
